Thank you very much for inviting me. And – to the immigration authorities – thank you for letting me into this country. It is always a pleasure to cross a border without being sent back on the first plane.
Today, the dearest of our many freedoms is under attack all throughout Europe. Free speech is no longer a given. What we once considered a natural element of our existence, our birth right, is now something we once again have to battle for.

Thank you for inviting me. Thank you Lord Pearson and Lady Cox for showing Fitna, and for your gracious invitation. While others look away, you, seem to understand the true tradition of your country, and a flag that still stands for freedom.
This is no ordinary place. This is not just one of England’s tourist attractions. This is a sacred place. This is the mother of all Parliaments, and I am deeply humbled to speak before you.

Combating Defamation of Religions passed 85 – 50 with 42 abstentions in a key UN General Assembly committee. The anti-blasphemy measure desired by Islamic nations has been criticised by Western nations due to the potential restrictions on the freedom of speech.
The sponsors of the draft (Islamic nations with obvious Islamic goals) claimed the measures are to protect the abuse of all religious adherents who may be abused due to their beliefs. Religious tolerance advocates however claim the measures limit the freedom of religion.
Bennett Graham, of the Becket Fund (a think tank aimed at promoting religious liberty) says:

The Dutch politician Geert Wilders’s film Fitna, an eagerly anticipated movie release, primarily in the Middle East and Pakistan has yet to be released. Wilders says the 15 minute long film Fitna describes Islam as “the enemy of freedom”.
This whole episode has exposed many issues.
Firstly; disgusting reactions by Islamic nations, but secondly, and what I feel more important is the cowardice of the Western world. This cowardice is leading to the systematic decay of the freedom of speech, which seems to have a linear relationship with Muslim immigration into Europe.
